Griffin - The first five years

On June 9, 2001, the entire downwithup.com family celebrated the fifth anniversary of the adoption of Griffn. She is our tortoise shell patterned, domestic short hair cat.

To describe her in such simple terms really does not do her justice. She is a little lady, crossing her paws neatly in front of her when seated. Nibbling her crunchy food and sampling her soft paté with the utmost of grace and civility. Not to mention throwing her leg up and washing her bum only amongst her closest friends.

And so it was on a June Saturday five short years ago when the folks at downwithup.com walked into the Toronto Humane Society, and had their lives forever changed. Griffin was using her stage name, Georgia, when we first met her. She was only 6 weeks old, but she'd already honed her charms. She turned up the purrs, wriggled her whiskers and became part of our family that day.

Thanks to the huge success of the Pappy's Poems mini site, we'd like to introduce our next mini site... all about Griffin! Oh boy, reams of cat pictures! Just what you've all been waiting for! But since Griffin is so particular with her appearance, she has insisted on overhauling all of her portraits. In the next few days we'll be phasing in the new Griffin mini site and adding pictures as Griffin releases them.
